The fresh air of spring has arrived and the weather has been so nice. I have been busy cleaning out my garage and starting to spring clean my home. I just called my cleaning service to set up a deep clean of my house and it got me thinking about how important it is to have a cleaning company that is licensed and insured.
Why hire Licensed, Bonded and Insured cleaners?
Hiring a cleaning company with these standards means not only that the homeowner is protected, but also that the company you are allowing into your home is, in fact, a legitimate company that can complete the work in your home legally.
What does it mean to be a bonded house cleaning company?
A bonded house cleaning company is insured against any problems that might arise while the cleaners are on the property. It not only protects the homeowner but also the cleaning company’s employees. Bonding is a type of insurance that protects your processions while the cleaning staff is in your home. Hiring a bonded house cleaning company is a way to ensure your things are safe. It also protects both you and the workers from loss and damage, as well as any other cost that can come from unexpected happenings.
What does it mean to be licensed?
Most states require professional house cleaners be licensed in order to legally market or advertise their services. In fact, it is a requirement to be licensed in most states to even be considered a cleaning company. Part of becoming licensed to clean homes most of the time requires that the company is also bonded and insured.
Why do house cleaners need to also be insured?
The cleaning companies insurance will protect the homeowner in the event that a worker is injured while working in your home. This is essential to your safety as a client, and you should ensure the company you hire has this covered. The exact amount of coverage and policy requirements varies from state to state. Nevada requires cleaning companies to carry at minimum a general liability policy.
There are different types of insurance and bonds available for cleaning companies, with different levels of coverage. The higher the level of coverage, the safer it will be to hire them. Always remember to check if the cleaning company you are choosing to hire is bonded and insured for maximum safety for all parties.
So, if you decide this spring to hire cleaning service, be sure to ask them if they are licensed bonded and insured. It is also a smart idea to request the company’s policies and license information. At the very least, know the people cleaning in your home are covered and you will not be liable for any injuries that occur on your property.
