LAS VEGAS – Capstone Brokerage, which provides risk management and insurance services, has named Mary Thompson as its president.

Thompson, a Las Vegas resident for more than 25 years, successfully navigated Capstone through one of the hardest business environments in decades. Her leadership over the last seven years contributed to Capstone being recognized as one of the fastest growing private companies in America by Inc. Magazine in 2008, achieving revenue growth of 325 percent over a three-year period. The company was again recognized on the Inc. 5000 list in 2009 and 2010.

Under Thompson’s leadership, Capstone was also recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” in insurance nationally by Business Insurance Magazine in both 2009 and 2010.

Thompson began her career in New York as an underwriter for General Accident Insurance Company. In the decades since then, Thompson’s experience has included sales and executive management, agency operations, director of marketing, bond manager and director of human resources.

Aside from her work at Capstone Brokerage, Thompson serves on many respected broker/agent advisory panels with some of Nevada’s’ leading insurance companies. She was involved with the Governor’s Task Force to create the Workers’ Compensation Laws and Regulations when Nevada opened from the monopolistic system in 1999. As a former instructor, she has educated many agents to earn their credentials to sell workers’ compensation in Nevada.

Capstone Brokerage is a Las Vegas-based independent insurance brokerage that offers a comprehensive selection of risk management and insurance products and services.
