Nightclub and restaurant operator SBE Entertainment said Monday it will place a branch of its Hyde Lounge nightclub inside the $350 million Las Vegas Arena, which opens in April.

In a statement, Los Angeles-based SBE said the 18,000-square-foot space will include two platforms that extend over the arena seating for viewing, as well as lounge experience with a bar and restaurant.

SBE has placed the Hyde Lounge in two other sports and entertainment arenas: the Staples Center in Los Angeles and the American Airlines Arena in Miami. SBE also operates the Hyde Lounge at the Bellagio.

Las Vegas Arena, a 20,000-seat venue located between New York-New York and Monte Carlo, is being developed through a partnership of arena operator AEG and MGM Resorts International. The venue is scheduled to host more than 100 events annually including UFC, boxing and other sporting events; major headline entertainment, awards shows and special events.

The Las Vegas Arena will also the home of a Las Vegas-based National Hockey League franchise if the league decides to approve an expansion proposal.

SBE has placed several of its its flagship restaurants and nightlife spots at the SLS Las Vegas and in the Park development between New York-New York and Monte Carlo.

Rick Arpin, MGM Resorts senior vice president of entertainment, called the Hyde Lounge “exactly the type of environment we want inside the arena.”
